DIVYA K BHAVANI
Journalism junkie, online a lot
Obsessed with all things digital, Divya Kala Bhavani is a multimedia journalist who considers herself an adaptable global citizen – a media chameleon, if you will.
Divya Kala grew up in Botswana. Loving that she was surrounded by fast development, merging cultures, and 'green movements', she took that eye for change when she moved to London in 2012 for university. As a journalism graduate from London College of Communication, UAL, and having done a Masters in Media Governance at London School of Economics and Political Science, she is always in pursuit of challenging and invigorating work. She is also part of the founding team of Artefact Magazine, an arts and political quarterly magazine, headquartered at London College of Communication.
With more than 6 years of experience as a media professional, Divya Kala is currently the Technology features editor for The Hindu MetroPlus, the daily features supplement for The Hindu, one of India's most widely-read English newspapers. She not only reviews the latest in consumer tech, but she has also interviewed tech leaders including Joseph Lubin and Tony Fadell.
Divya Kala has also been an expert guest speaker on Al Jazeera's The Stream, speaking about Twitter's 2019 ban on political ads.
She is also an entertainment journalist, having interviewed notable figures in popular culture such as Mindy Kaling, Jameela Jamil, Janina Gavankar, and Pedro Pascal, as well as composers such as Jesper Kyd and Hildur Guðnadóttir.
